Intelligent Medical Objects Announces:
Release and General Availability of its Clinical Modules for Lotus Notes

02/22/1999

HIMSS, Atlanta Georgia, February 22, 1999 - Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO), the medical software and knowledge management firm, announces the release and immediate availability of its suite of clinical modules for Lotus Notes.

IMO, known for its expertise in point of care medical applications and vocabulary management, has successfully incorporated several of its high end clinical relational databases and applications into plug n' play modules designed for Lotus Notes. The modules include an enhanced disease vocabulary database (IMO ICD), an enhanced procedural vocabulary database (IMO CPT), a superbill module, a robust medication management module (prescription writing, drug information, drug interactions) and a clinical line art annotation module.

The IMO modules, designed to be integrated into Notes based clinical systems, offer developers and consultants working with Lotus Notes the ability to rapidly deploy these high quality features. The IMO disease vocabulary database and medication management modules have already been integrated into a groupware application in development by Shared Medical Systems (SMS).

"Our years of experience in the field has enabled IMO to create several modules in Lotus Notes that are key components for the CPR and clinical systems. Within a few short hours, our modules were fully integrated into the SMS application. The cost savings in terms of their development resources and time were substantial." said Fabio Almeida MD, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for IMO.

"Lotus Notes provides an unparalleled architecture and development system for the medical industry. It's built in database management, multi-level security, robust messaging and document management capabilities provide developers a giant leg up when creating clinical solutions. The IMO Modules will help developers take rapid application development of medical systems one step further." said Frank Naeymi-Rad PhD, President for IMO.
