Adaptive Data Manager™ Chosen for New Immunization Registry

01/25/2002

Northbrook, Illinois, January 25, 2002 - Leap of Faith Technologies, Inc. and Intelligent Medical Objects, Inc. (IMO) have completed development and testing of an advanced Immunization Registry that is now available for deployment throughout the United States and the world. The registry, called IMMUN.COM, allows Internet access by medical personnel, family members and trusted persons to a single, life-long record of immunizations for any individual. Leap of Faith received a grant from the National Institutes of Health to develop the registry and worked with IMO and used IMO's flagship product, Adaptive Data Manager™, to rapidly develop the application.

Adaptive Data Manager™ is an advanced HIPAA-compliant data management solution for complex databases. It provides an information storage and database development environment based on a meta-data model, along with a suite of development tools. Its unusual flexibility allows rapid definition and accommodates continuous change in database structure. At the same time, ADM features an unusual level of security and control, plus low maintenance overhead.

"ADM allowed us to leverage our existing infrastructure while improving the overall delivery of our service," said Barbara Rapchak, CEO of Leap of Faith Technologies and principal investigator on the grant. "We were looking for results, quality, and a strong relationship. We got all three from IMO. They seemed to truly want to deliver products and services that would help us succeed. And their solutions are delivered by people who all share the same values."

Frank Naeymi-Rad, CEO at Intelligent Medical Objects since the company's formation in 1994, noted that the ADM solution actually came about in an electronic medical record project in the 90's. "When we developed our first electronic medical record (HealthPoint ACS™) for Glaxo Wellcome, we learned the hard way that almost all medical records, regardless of application, are likely to change continuously--in structure, definition, use, size, and so on. We thought there would be a good market for tools and components that would speed the building of these complex records and still allow control over the constant changes. Last year it all came together in the form of ADM. It turns out that the immunization registry is just another type of medical record with most of the same challenges that we see in the other types."
